Top 4 Skin Routines You Should Adopt for Great Skin

Creating a skincare routine would not be so hard as long as you know your basic skin needs. Sure you can follow any kind of skincare routines shared online but you need to listen to your skin first. What is your main skin concern at the moment?
Putting on so many products on your skin without knowing if your skin really needs them would cause a long-term disaster. In fact, the more routines you put on your list, it'll be harder for you to keep your skincare routine on track and it'll surely cost you more money.
Most of us would probably feel more suitable for sticking to the simpler end of things especially when your days are always packed with works or studies but maintaining great skin is also one of your priorities.
Well, let me tell you a secret, you can achieve great and healthier skin without an expensive skincare regime if you adopt these simple skin routines:
1. CLEANSE
This is the first and foremost skincare routine everyone should adopt no matter what condition of your skin are. Your skin must be cleansed from dirt and oils every morning and night.
If you wear makeup, make sure to double cleanse your face properly using an oil cleanser or any makeup remover, and then use your regular cleanser to clean the rest.
Don't ever sleep with makeup on your face and even if you don't wear makeup, you have to at least wash your face before going to bed because you can't guarantee if your face is really clean from any dust or dirt after going out the whole day.
2. EXFOLIATE
Exfoliating is important to do at least once a week to remove the dead skin cells and clogged pores. These can't be removed by just using your normal daily cleanser because they need extra efforts to be eliminated.
Clearing these clogged pores and dead skin cells away is crucial for clear and balanced skin.
If you don't exfoliate your skin, the dead skin cells will eventually make your skin become dull and look older while clogged pores can cause acne so that's why you have to exfoliate your skin regularly. But you can't do exfoliating every day because over-exfoliating your skin will cause irritation and make your skin drier.
There are many ways to exfoliate your skin but the most common and popular exfoliate is using a face scrub. Using a face scrub is much more hassle-free and you can even get them in nearby drugstores. It's the simplest step to prevent dreaded blackheads and whiteheads on your skin.
3. MOISTURIZE
Maintaining your skin hydration is one of the greatest hacks. If your skin is not getting a sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration itself will turn your skin to dry, being tight, and flaky.
It same goes for your whole body, without water, the organs can't function properly at their best.
You can't rely solely on just drinking more water every day but your skin also needs a direct application of 'water' as well. Most people tend to skip this step because they think it'll make their face becomes more oily. Hello, people with oily skin also need to moisturize their face.
If you do not provide a sufficient amount of moisture to your skin, your skin will moisture itself by producing oil hence making your face looks oily.
Your skin may be dehydrated and lacking water content, but it still can produce oil. In fact, your skin produces more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture in your skin.
So, don't forget to moisturize your skin and make sure to choose a suitable moisturizer based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, use a moisturizer with a high content of water (watery & lightweight texture) rather than cream-based so it'll absorb fast into your skin.
Make sure your hands are clean before applying the moisturizer on your face, tau!
4. PROTECT YOUR SKIN
Protect? From what? Why do I need to protect my skin?
All your efforts of cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating your skin regularly would go to waste if you do not protect your skin from UV rays. UV rays are harmful to your skin as it can cause sunburn, wrinkles, skin cancer, and pigmentation.
What are UV rays?
It's either comes from the sun or any other high-temperature surfaces. Exposure to UV rays can trigger your skin's pigmentation cells as they need to filter out the UV sun rays by themselves.
How to prevent this?
WEAR SUNSCREEN/SUNBLOCK.
Sunscreen or sunblock is designed to protect your skin against these rays, by creating a barrier for your skin tissue and prevent it from absorbing the rays direct into your skin.
Please cover your skin as much as you can even though you're indoors for the whole day (because those windows can't block out the UV rays unless you live in a totally dark cave, no lights at all), and stay out of the direct sunlight at peak altitude.
I know it's hard to apply sunscreen to your skin EVERY DAY but trusts me, starting off your sunscreen from your younger age would not disappoint you in the future.

ReplyDeleteYa, step penjagaan kulit wajah memang tak boleh skip kalau nak dapatkan kulit wajah yang bersih sihat. Cuma kekadang selalu terskip pakai moisturizer sebelum tido. Besok pagi sendiri menyesal. HAhaa...
